Inspired by my visit to the beautiful Blue Mountains in New South Wales, this expressive abstract painting captures the rugged beauty and peaceful spirit of the Australian wilderness. The sweeping mountain ranges, weathered sandstone cliffs and earthy bushland colours left a lasting impression on me. Through loose, energetic brushstrokes and layers of ochre, sage green, soft blue and vibrant plum, I have tried to capture the feeling of being immersed in this remarkable landscape.

The Blue Mountains hold a rich history, with Aboriginal peoples maintaining deep cultural and spiritual connections to Country for tens of thousands of years. The area is also home to the iconic Three Sisters rock formation and is recognised as a World Heritage Area for its extraordinary natural beauty and unique wildlife.

For me, the magic of the Blue Mountains lies in the opportunity to slow down and walk amongst nature. Exploring the winding bush trails, breathing in the fresh eucalyptus air and taking in the vast valleys is a wonderful reminder of how grounding and inspiring nature can be.

This painting is my personal tribute to this special place, celebrating its timeless beauty and the connection we feel when we immerse ourselves in the Australian landscape.
